Ben is a Navy and Police veteran who dedicated almost 30 years to serving Australia and his community. Throughout his career, he developed a strong reputation for leadership, resilience, and supporting others — qualities he continues to bring to every aspect of his work today.

Following his frontline service, Ben remained committed to the veteran community, serving as President of the Warragul RSL for five years before taking on the role of Manager of the Veterans Centre in Warragul. He is passionate about helping veterans and their families thrive and is dedicated to ensuring future generations understand the service and sacrifice of those who have worn Australia's uniform.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Leadership and Emergency Management, as well as an Undergraduate Certificate in Mental Health. A respected leader and mentor, he is driven by a genuine desire to support and inspire those around him.

After completing his first Kokoda Trail crossing in 2026, Ben returns as the Second-in-Command (2IC) of the Kokoda Trek leadership team. Drawing on his military, policing, and veteran support experience, he is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and meaningful experience for every trekker.  For Ben, Kokoda is more than a physical challenge—it's an opportunity to honour those who served, build resilience, and foster mateship and personal growth along one of Australia's most significant historical trails.
