Passport

Please check that your passport is valid for 6 months from the date of your arrival in PNG. Then check it the night before you depart and put it on top of your gear before you go to bed - then put it in your pocket after you have had your shower - then double check it's there - then get the rest of your gear together!

Port Moresby Airport

You must arrange your travel to arrive at Jackson's International Airport, Port Moresby on the day of your scheduled trip, this is the day prior to trek start.

You will be met at the airport by your Adventure Kokoda trek leader and transported to your hotel for your trek briefing and issue of your camping gear in preparation for your trek start the following day.

You will be able to store your travel clothing, toiletries and valuables at the hotel whilst you are on the track.

You must arrange your travel to depart Jackson's International Airport, Port Moresby on the last day of your scheduled trip, this is the day after you finish your trek.

International Flight

You must be at the airport to check-in at least two hours prior to your scheduled departure time.  If you have an interstate connection flight you must plan to arrive at your international departure airport at least three hours prior to departure.  If your connection flight is delayed for any reason there is always a good chance that you might just make it onto your scheduled flight but your baggage won’t. There is little room for error in PNG and it could result in you missing the first few days of your trek until we can fly you to Efogi village with our half-way supplies.

Kokoda Polo Shirt

You will receive a Kokoda polo shirt in the mail prior to your departure. We ask that you wear this on your flight to PNG.  It makes it much easier for our PNG reception crew to identify you when you clear customs on arrival in PNG.

Trekking Boots

We recommend you wear your trekking boots onto the plane for your flight to PNG.  We can help replace most personal items if your bags go astray but boots are more of a challenge.
