Yes. Adventure Kokoda is licensed by the Kokoda Track Authority (KTA) and operates through Adventure Kokoda PNG, a locally incorporated company registered in Papua New Guinea.
We hold Foreign Enterprise Certification from the PNG Government and comply with the relevant requirements of the Investment Promotion Authority (IPA) and the Internal Revenue Commission (IRC). We also hold an IRC Certificate of Compliance (CoC).
How can I check a tour operator’s credentials?
Before booking a Kokoda trek, ask your chosen operator to confirm that it holds a current KTA Commercial Operator Licence and meets the applicable PNG business registration, foreign enterprise certification and tax requirements.
You can check company registration details through the PNG Investment Promotion Authority register.
As information on the Kokoda Track Authority (KTA) website may not be up to date, we recommend verifying an operator’s credentials directly.
Why does this matter?
Choosing a properly licensed and registered operator helps you make an informed decision about the company responsible for your trek. Ask about safety procedures, risk management, insurance arrangements and the welfare of PNG guides and carriers.
At Adventure Kokoda, we believe responsible trekking begins with compliance, safety, accountability and respect for the people of Papua New Guinea.
